Honoring Your Pastor

I read this article and really appreciated his words. "Honoring the pastor isn’t conditioned upon whether we like who he is or what he does. It isn’t based upon his personality, his vision for the church, his charisma, his charm, his philosophy of ministry, and so forth. Rather it is based upon his life in Christ, his godly character, and his work and position as one who is called and ordained to the office."

Anyway, take a moment and read it for yourself:

Our pastors work hard for us - sacrificing and toiling day after day. Many times their sacrifices go unnoticed and unappreciated. Sometimes it goes even farther than that - sometimes, pastors are faced with anger and vengeance from those they have tried to help.

Friends, your pastors love you and they strive hard to serve you - sometimes in ways you don't even realize. Honor them. Don't spit in their faces or grumble about them behind their backs. Honor them as God commands.

"Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you." {Hebrews 13:17}
