A Birthday!

When someone mentions my sister, Christa, a few things come to mind: sister, friend, child of God. So many years of sisterly companionship have passed - we've laughed together and cried together; we've sung crazy songs together-laughing as we sang. We've cleaned together, donning bleach-stained aprons, armed with endust and windex. We've fought and forgiven each other while tears ran down our cheeks.

We've attended weddings together - admiring the bride and looking forward to the day when we too would meet the man of our dreams. I watched, with misty eyes, as she walked down the aisle on my father's arm. I remember her smiling at her knight in shining armor, the man who awaited his beloved bride, my precious sister. I recently rejoiced with her as we discovered she's expecting a baby boy! I've prayed in the peaceful times when I think of her, my sister and friend. I miss her so much!

I pray that on this, her 23rd birthday, that she will experience the joy and wonder of Christ Jesus. That she will be blessed beyond measure now and in the years to come!

Happy Birthday Christa! I love you!

Dancing!

Last night we had an incredible evening of dancing!! We are soooo grateful to the Riggenbach's for driving us out there!!(Thanks y'all!! And the conversation in the car was GREAT! LOL!)
A bunch of families from church showed up and we learned a ton of new dances!! At the end of the evening we ended up with a lively Virginia Reel (of course! Who goes to a dance and doesn't partake in the Virginia Reel? :D) and somehow we just had Providence people in our set. It was pretty neat! :D
All in all, it was a delightful evening and we can't wait to do it again! :D Unfortunately, we took the camera but didn't have time to get photos (I believe Tiff got one of Garrison and David doing the Polka together though...scary! You might check it out! )! Though I believe Ashton got quite a few photos, and hopefully he'll put them up soon! :)

Cheerio, jessica

*Happy* Birthday Emma!!

Guess who turned 5 today? Our little Emma Katherine!

How time flies! It seems like just yesterday that Emma was a chubby little toddler taking her first steps. But now she's a little girl full of joy, energy, and adventure.
Instead of rattles and teething toys, she runs and plays outside with Caleb, Abigail, and Grace, looking for adventure and...horses. Yes, if you know anything about Emma, you know that she is nuts about horses! And not just any horse...it must be Trigger. Yup, Roy Rogers' horse. You might also know that she is so full of imagination, energy, and enthusiasm that she doesn't know what to do with it all. You might walk into the living room and find her crawling on all fours with William behind her doing the same.

"What are y'all doing?" You might ask.
"We're playing horses." She'll reply.
"Horses." William echoes.
"I'm Trigger." She explains.
"I'm Black Booty (Beauty)." William adds, as they continue with their neighing and galloping. :)

Emma is such a little joy and it seems so absolutely impossible that she's growing up so fast! Happy 5th Birthday, Em!! I love you!!
