I've been thinking about doing a blog post. Though, obviously, I haven't acted on this thought until now. *cough* Anyway, what's been happening in my life lately? What has been taking up my time and my energy? The real question: WHY haven't I been blogging?
Actually, I have no excuse. I've just been procrastinating (I'm the Queen of procrastination.) - and thinking, and...*gasp* facebooking. Very soon, I'll be taking another break from facebook, and who knows? Maybe I'll find more time to blog. :)
What have I been reading? Abigail by Jill Eileen Smith. It is book 2 in a series about all the wives of King David. Honestly, the writing-style isn't my favorite (I'm not really into popular Christian fiction.) but it's an interesting book, in that the way Abigail feels about being one of the *many* wives of King David is pretty much something I'd always wondered about. Obviously, it's not really how she felt (it's written by a 21st Century woman, after all.) but I'm sure her feelings were relatively similar. I mean, how would *you* feel, being one of many wives? Yeah, that's what I thought.
As for what I've been doing, here goes.
Tuesday was the day my family joined 4,000 other homeschoolers at the State Capitol to oppose SB136. A bill that was attempting to force homeschoolers to register their children with the state. It was SO exciting to see so many of us there, standing for freedom!
I went to a lovely party for Jesi Ryken's 16th birthday this past week. It was a wonderful time had by all (I do believe) and I really enjoyed just visiting with all the girls and celebrating another year in a dear sister in Christ's life.
On Sunday evening I enjoyed a small "Valentine's Day" party with Melinda, Melissa and Marie Michelle. We had a good time watching movies, eating ice cream, fellowshipping and laughing together!
Now the upcoming week is once again looking to be quite full, and I am remembering to be thankful. Whether or not I'm busy, I am alive. To smile and laugh, is to be full of joy. To love, is to know life at it's fullest. And that's what I'm going to do this week. Live, laugh & love.

YOU FINALLY POSTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HURRAY!!!!!!!!! *The crowd goes wild* And I'm the first one to leave a comment!!!!!!!!!! *The crowd goes wild again*
Well, it's nice to know that you aren't dead...preoccupied, maybe, but not dead. *smile* See what FB does to people...kills their creativity. *grin*
I'm glad to hear that you've been keeping busy, though. It's the next event, the friends in our lives, the ones we love most, the laughter we need, the next breath the Lord gives us, and so many other "little" things that make up the "big" picture that keep us going.
Enjoy this season of your life...it doesn't last long.
LOVE YA!!!!!!
It is nice to know you haven't abandoned us weird not-on-Facebook people. :-)
Unfortunately we had previous plans, but I would have really liked to be at the Capitol to oppose SB136! We saw some video footage that was great... and a little creepy (did you see the part with the truant officer admitting he would go around knocking on all the homeschooler's doors? Yikes - I hope that gets around).
Happy late birthday to Jesi! :-)
