I just realized that I didn't post anything for Independence Day (my favorite national holiday...er...one of them anyway.) I have a few photos from our Fourth of July bash at the Sanford's home, but I need to download them and don't have the time at the moment. :-)
'Till then, I thought I'd share with y'all the words to one of my favorite "Americana" songs (Some of us young people at Church sang this at a Retirement home a few days before the 4th), "God Bless the USA" (the lyrics to this version are from the one sung by Jump5).
God Bless the USA
If tomorrow all the things were gone
I'd hoped for all my life
And I had to start again
With just my family by my side
I'd thank my God above
To be living here today
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom
And they can't take that away
And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I gladly stand up next to you
And defend her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the USA
From the lakes of Minnesota
To the hills of Tennessee
Across the plains of Texas
From sea to shining sea
From Detroit down to Houston
And New York to LA
There's pride in every American heart
And it's time we stand and say
And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I gladly stand up next to you
And defend her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the USA
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I gladly stand up next to you
And defend her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the USA

That's a nice picture of your family on the side bar. I bet that was taken with a nice camera. The one of the four of you girls and Joshua turned out well too.
This is my favorite patriotic song! And they only played it once (and of course, I missed all but the teensy ending chords :P LOL). Thanks for posting it.
