I feel quite ashamed for the way I have neglected my blog of late. But I came to the conclusion that 'twould be better for me to not post then to write something that would bore everyone to tears.
Unfortunately, I can't even think of anything to bore you to tears.
So, as such, I am going to ramble a bit about my life and three very dull things indeed that have occupied a bit of my free time. :-)
1. Here are a few things I have currently checked out from the library and/or are on my reading list:
The Corinthian by Georgette Heyer
The Buccaneers by Edith Wharton
Love and Respect by Dr. Emmerson E. Eggerichs
Why Shoot a Butler? by Georgette Heyer
Tuesday Club Murders by Agatha Christie
Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
Georgette Heyer is a current favorite of mine. "Cotillion" is a marvelous piece of fiction! I'm reading "The Corinthian" currently! Her regency-style writing, wit and humorous and exciting storyline's are ones that Jane Austen herself would have loved to read, I'm sure. Mhhm! True brilliance, I say.
2. Some people might be wondering what is going on with my novel. I will tell those who are curious (*hugs*), and for those who are not, well, I will tell you as well. :-) Subsequently, I, being my brilliant self, decided to do a bit of typing in my novel while sitting upon my bed's coverlet. I had previously taken my novel off of the internet (it was on my Google docs page.) and put it in a word document. I (still being my brilliant self) removed myself from the bed and leaving the computer in its comfortable resting place, vacated the room. I had no idea that, apparently, leaving a computer on a bed can do one of four things:
1. Catch the house on fire.
2. Overheat and never turn on again.
3. Catch the house on fire and get destroyed with the house.
or 4. Nothing.
Unfortunately, it did not do the last, and instead did number two. It overheated and now refuses to turn on. But thankfully, my Father is wonderfully heroic and is aiding me in aquiring someone to get the data off of the computer (aka. My novel). So what began as a nightmare, is ending...well, rather well. Of which I am very, very thankful!
Another thing that I have done this week was watch an episode of the ever-hilarious-and-oh-so-British TV show, "Jeeves and Wooster". Really, it's worth a try! Absolutely hilarious and full of non-offensive and clean humor! Here's a clip from the latest episode that we watched. And as a side note (to understand it better) Aunt Agatha (the older woman) is always trying to get Bertie (the fellow with the pearls) married. He's never stood up to her, but *let* her boss him around. Well, when he finds out that she was trying to get him to marry a girl who he discovers (she didn't know) to be a thief, he finally gets the gumption to stand up to her. Too funny! :-D Oh, and check out that happy dance at the end! :-D
Alright, so I divulged three interesting facts about my life. Whether you found them interesting or not, I leave completely to your own judgment. :-)
Lord bless and have a marvelous week! Until my next post...

I am glad to hear you haven't fallen off the face of the earth! I was beginning to worry.... :-)
Oh, I would have been so upset if my computer died with a NOVEL (written by me of course ;-) stored on it! I hope your father can retrieve all the things you had on it!
Looking forward to more posts in the future. :-)
YAY! You're posting again!
Oooh! So sorry about your computer! Must be frustrating!
I loved the Jeeves and Wooster clip...really cracked me up. So, I'd advise a certain caution while reading The Buccaneers. We rented the movie, which is much much like the book, and although it began innocently, it had a rather frightful ending. Good luck on getting your novel going!
I was glad to see a post from you!!
I have some Agatha Christie books on my bedside table.....That Georgette Heyer person sounds good =) I love Jane!
Sorry about the computer!
Well, thankfully you were able to get the novel off the compy :-)
c ya Sunday!
Oh, I adore "Jeeves and Wooster!" We got the complete series for Christmas and had such a delightful time indulging in the hilarity (as well as getting such a treat for the eyes in the form of vintage cars and clothes). What a pity the show didn't last longer.
I suddenly have an urge to make some tea and lose myself in a Wodehouse book. :)
Oh Jess, I'm so sorry about your computer! But, oh how I love Jeeves and Wooster, what little I have seen of it. Have you always been an Agatha Christie fan? I love her books. Blessings, Darby Maeve
Jessica,
Ohhh! I do hope you will be able to retrieve your novel!!!
Blessings to you!
~Chloe~ :-)
P.S.
I have awarded you!!!

I wish you well with your novel. It took me a long time to write mine and get it published, but God finally caused that to happen. If you like reading Christian novels, may I tell you the title "Outcasts Of Skagaray". You can get a preview by reading the sample chapters on www.threeswans.com.au If you decide to read it I will be delighted. Whatever happens, I greet you in the Lord Jesus. Blessings.
I shoulda known you'd do something like that... When I'm working on my bed (or watching a movie, playing games, etc.), I put a mirror turned upside down at the foot of my bed, and put my laptop on that.
Long live Acer! (Motto: Our laptop's stink, but never die enough to justify the purchase of a new one...)
Kathryn, Hehe. Yeah, I think I need to post more. But that *inspiraton* hasn't been coming very often so I feel like I don't have anything to say on here. :-D I'll try to inspire myself more in the future! And thank you, I hope he can get it off too. :(
Tara, Yes, it is quite frustrating. :( It's quite annoying when you've begun to think of all these things you could add to some of your chapters but you can't because you don't have access to them. :P
Emil, actually, I haven't quite yet. But I am hoping to very very soon!
Clare, Thank you for leaving a comment! Yes, I love love love Jeeves and Wooster...absolutely hilarious! And you're quite correct, the vintage flair is awesome! :)
Darby, Then you'll have to come over to our house sometime and watch J & W with me! :-D I actually am reading Agatha Christie for the first time! I love it so far! :)
Chloe, Thank you for the award! That is so sweet of you!!
Andrew, Thank you for leaving a comment! That is so neat! There are few things I love more than reading or writing a book! *bliss* :-) God bless!
SAAD, Yeah. :-D Hehe. Well, now I've set up a table in my room, so I'll probably use it next time. Beds and computers are now going to stay yards away from each other in my room. LOL!
Agreed about Acers! :-D Long may they live! LOL!
Have a splendiferous week, y'all!
In Christ Alone, Jessica
*Jaw drops* Oh my, what a scare! About your novel! I would have been beside myself! I'm glad you'll be able to retrieve it. :-)
~Elise
Dear Jessica,
You don't know me, but I have enjoyed reading your blog as well as Tiffany's and your mother's for quite a long time now. I am fifteen, and I'm homeschooled, along with my six younger brothers.
I love your Catherine Morland heading--that book is one of my favorite Jane Austen novels. My question is this: How did you like the movie?
For me, there were many things I loved, and some that I really didn't.
God bless, and I am happy that your novel is on the way to being recovered! I'm writing one too...I would be in agony if that happened...
One thing I would suggest is buying a flash-drive and loading your novel onto it. That way you can just plug the drive into any computer, and have access to the info.
In Christ,
Hannah L.
O_O your poor computer!!
Since my only desk is currently covered in paint, canvas, and fabric snippings (actually it's my sister's desk she graciously let me put in my room), I keep my computer on my bed. It's not overheated yet, even though I often forget to prop a book underneath it when I take it off my lap. Option four likes me. :D
Glad to see you're blogging again, I can move your RSS feed out of my "inactive blog" folder. :D
Oooh, your reading list looks lovely! I really like "Thursday club murders"! Oh, and how TERRIBLE about your novel, but you know, you can open up the laptop, and take out the hardrive, and your novel is still stored on there, if your dad needs any help, my dad is a computer geek, so have him call my dad if he wants! :D
I *ADORE* Jeeves and Wooster!!!!!!!! And I think "pearls means tears" is one of the best! :)
~Lis
Oh, and I forgot to add, when you do retrieve your novel, load it onto a flash drive!! (or just send it to me and I'll make sure you always have a copy *GRIN*)
~Lis
Elise, yes so am I! Such a frightful business! :(
Hannah, Thank you! I actually really loved the movie. Felicity Jones was PERFECT for Catherine and JJ Field was DOUBLY PERFECT for Henry, I thought. :-) And lovely costumes too. Hehe. :-D
Tiph, No fair! LOL! Do you have a Mac? I hear that Mac's are more prone to option four then Acers. :P :-D
Yes, I'll try to keep up the blogging. :-D We'll see if I can! :-D lol!
Lis, Oo yes! I'm on a book marathon right now. LOL!
Thank you very much! I will definitely tell my Dad that your Dad can help! Thank you!
Hehe. If my novel ever sees the light of day again, then you are definitely getting a copy of it! :-D *promise*
Yes! "Pearls Means Tears" is HILARIOUS! Definitely ranks up there with the "Cow Creamer" in my mind! :-D Miss you! <3
With a skip and a song,
Jessica
I loved it too--I agree, they did an amazing job with the casting. But there were two or three things that bothered me--
1. The mention of the Gothic novel "The Monk" which is not mentioned in the book. I researched it, and I was shocked with what I saw. It sort of takes away some of Catherine's innocence, in my opinion. Especially in that scene where she is reading in her bedroom...agh!
2. They made Mr. Thorpe too likeable! The way he apologizes to her, after he tricks her about the Tilneys going out of town was downright sweet. :-)
Other than that, it was absolutely wonderful. :-)
Hannah
Hannah,
Yes. But thankfully I knew about the "Monk" ahead of time and just tried to ignore it. You're right though, that was rather annoying that they put that in there! :P
I actually didn't like Mr. Thorpe...but that's probably because I liked Henry 100 times more. :-D LOL! Mr. Tilney's always been my favorite Jane Austen hero! hehe!
~Jessica
Yipe! My Spirey better not shut down on me. We're barely acquainted but just enough for me to throw a tantrum if he loses my book. ;) I've been advised to use a flash drive. It seems everybody has Acers, and a few weeks ago I didn't know they existed. LOL
Love you!
Hey, I just wanted to say that I LOVE your blog
Oh, overheating computers can be so frustrating! Mine was doing that last year (and I didn't even have mine on the bed). It would randomly shut down in the middle of my work. Finally I took it apart in the back and used dozens of Q-tips to remove the tons of dust that was causing the overheating. I guess it had built up after about a year. Dust will do that to electronics.
~Amanda~
Hello Jessica!
So glad to hear you are still alive! Truthfully, I was beginning to wonder what had happened to you.
Praise The Lord your Dad is going to be able to get your novel back... I can't imagine how frustrating that would be!
I'm looking forward to more posts SOON (I hope!).
Have a lovely evening~
Achaia
Bailey, LOL! I actually didn't know they existed either until we first got ours a little while back. :-D *great minds*! :-D Love you too!!
Just as I Am, Thank you very much. :-)
Amanda, Hmm. I wonder if it could be a bit dusty in ours too? I'll have to ask my Dad!
Achaia, *grin* Yeah, I have been a bit behind in my posting! :-D So sorry about that! I should be posting more soon!!
Thank you for your comments, y'all!!
~Jessica
