The Latest on Injuries Over Here...

This afternoon I was busy doing the lunch dishes, humming happily to myself.
I began to put away the clean dishes.
I picked up the coffee cups and opened the cabinet and was just lifting my arm above the counter to put them in when…a huge crash came, followed by a wail from myself. But, the coffee cup was forgotten when I looked down at my lower arm, and there, upon it was a huge gash. Blood poured forth and I lost it. I started to cry (I mean, what would you do if you had a ginormous gash in your arm?) and called Mom. She came rushing. She told me to calm down and she sat down on the couch, and I beside her. She got some tissue and held it to my wound. Then she told me that she was going to look at it. I turned away. (No, I’m not scared of blood, but I knew it would just make me frantic if I saw a huge rip in my arm.) Finally Dad got home (he had been out packing books for the conference.) and went to get a butterfly and a band aid. Tiff (who had been with Dad.) sat down beside me and I looked away (again!) as she presided to look at my horrible injury.
“Oh, it’s not that bad.” She told me cheerfully.
I (wanting desperately to believe her!) then did something dumb. I looked down at it.
“Ugh!” I cried. “It looks like….like…Frodo’s Nazgul wound! Doesn’t it, Tiff?”
She of course, being the compassionate person that she is, shook her head. “Of course it doesn’t! It doesn’t look at all like it.”
Now, friends, I must tell you that my wound really does look like Frodo’s Nazgul wound, except without the infection. The skin is split like that. It’s so disgusting. Ooooooh! I should put a picture up of it! What say y’all to that? lol. Just kidding. It would make me sick!
Anyway, then after I looked, my darling Father came out of his bedroom, armed with bandages and butterflies. He heroically bandaged me up and my poor arm is now in healing mode.
So I hope that gives you a good idea of the horrible pain I experienced.

But besides this exciting occurrence, nothing else has happened today that was especially exciting. I’ll be sure to post if I have to get my arm cut off.
Just kidding.

Adieu!

Jessica

Oh, that sounds awesome. No wait, I mean awful.

Oops. My bad. *grin*

I don't think I want to see pictures now...but, if you get your arm cut off, I might. It would be so terribly romantic, you know. Like the guy in Master and Commander. It would be almost worth losing a limb. :)

Aside from all this, I'm sorry you hurt yourself, and hope it heals quickly!!

Jessica,

Hope that your arm is healing! Don't even mention the word 'accident' to me! I am sort of accident prone. It seems in our family that if anyone is going to get hurt it will be me! I can totally relate:)

Injury Rule of Thumb #1: Never Look!

Heal up..ok?

Thank you everyone for your sympathy! It's actually looking alot better now (of which I am glad!).
The only problem is that the day before yesterday a 4 ginormous metal bookshelves fell on my foot, giving me yet more pain.
LOL.
To Danya- LOL.
To Daniel- Very funny. :D
To Faith- Beleive me, it was!
To Brooke- Poor Brooke! I hope you're alright. I guess we can be wounded together, right?
To Grace Anne- LOL. Yeah, I guess it would be rather romantic. When people ask why my arm is gone I'll just look at them dreamily and sigh. "Oh, I wanted to be like Will Blakney..." LOL.
To Sarah- I AGREE! NEVER look!!!

BTW, I'll be posting soon.
Adieu!
