An Update...Once Again
An extremely busy couple of days has just passed and there are quite a few more are ahead of us.
We had a very fun time in Lansing, Michigan, where Christa and I were able to help Brian and Shanna Denton out with the Children's Program.
The Children's Program was held at Impression 5 Children's Science Center, so we took them upstairs to explore the hands-on museum several times. At the end of the conference the Denton's treated Christa, me, and the other team leaders to dinner, which was really cool! It was a Hawaiian type restaurant called Cheeseburger in Paradise. It was a very sad parting, since the last time we will probably see them is in June. So this was the second to last time. :(
Anyway, on Sunday we made our way to Illinois where we are now staying with the Erber family, who have kindly opened their home to us. It has been a very fun two days so far. We played Volleyball (which was pretty successful) and cards, and had some nice times talking and watching hilarious commercials. :)
Also, my Mom could use a lot of prayer. Her foot is infected and she's going to have to fly home on Wendsday morning with Tiffany and William. So please pray for her.
Well, it's 11:30 at night, so I'd better get to bed. And I am going to post some pictures ASAP! :)

Updates
Where shall I begin? So much has happened in just the past few days. But I’ll try to remember as much as possible.
Well, on Thursday we visited a Vineyard and learned how wine is made (which was very interesting!), and that same evening we had a bunch of fun at the Sinnamon’s house, where the men were having a meeting. While the men were in the living area, us girls headed outside to enjoy the freezing air and light rain, and danced in the yard for an hour or two. It was a lot of fun, and even though I froze to death, I still enjoyed myself, and I think everyone else did too.

Then, the next day we packed up, left our hotel and came back up to MA to set up for the Mass Hope Conference. After we set up, we enjoyed a quick dinner in the convention hall and then went back to our hotel to go and enjoy a long-needed sleep.

I can't beleive it! I honestly CAN'T BELEIVE IT! Take a wild guess about where the McDonald family is right now! You can't guess? I didn't think so! Well, I'll tell you, just to put you out of your agony....

This is SOOOO cool! Not that Canada is something special or anything, it's just that I've never ever, in my whole life been out of the USA and now it's finally happened! I'm SOOO excited!
We actually weren't sure if we could get through or not, since only Dad, Mom, Christa and Tiffany had a source of identification. (well, I had a library card...not sure if that counts.) But the cop said that he trusted us all to be US citizens and he let us through! Yah!!! :) So, here we are. We might go do something today over here in Canada, so if we do, I'll get photos and post them, when I get a chance to load them onto the computer!

An Update...
A bit of news...
I'll fill you in a bit on the news from over here.
Well, on Sunday we visited Covenant of Grace Presbyterian church, pastored by Rev. Patterson. Their wonderful church is made up of so many amazing loving people with a passionate love for the Lord. It was so neat to meet them and I'm so glad that I did. After church (around 3:00) we headed over to Rev. Patterson's parents-in-laws home and enjoyed some delicious pancakes for dinner.
Yesterday, we went to the Sinnamon's home (a family from COG Church) and enjoyed a mother/daughter tea, which was very encouraging and very uplifting (oh, and our sweet fathers watched the children!). After the meeting, Melissa and I were able to teach the young ladies how to dance the Virginia Reel, Hunting the Fox, and the Gay Gordan. All of which were extremely fun! I got some pictures of the escapade, but I'll probably post them later, since I'm on the hotel computer right now.
Also, I created a second blog, in which I will only post pictures. The address is, www.jessicasphotoblog.blogspot.com . There are no pictures on it yet, but I hope to get some up soon.
Well, I miss everyone and I can't wait to see my wonderful church family in May! God bless!

Two Special Birthdays...
Two Birthday notes for two special people:
Guess who turned one year old on April 19? That'’s right! My darling little William Alexander McDonald is now officially in the world of numbers!
It seems so impossible that my baby brother could actually be a year old. I remember back to the day he was born (which seems like yesterday!) and recall my excitement and joy at the thought of a new baby. And when I held William in my arms for the first time, I knew that he would be a blessing to the McDonald home.
He'’s such a joy to everyone around him. Whether it'’s laughing, talking (his own personal language.), crawling, attempting to walk or eating, my baby brother reflects the love of the Lord and his abundant blessings upon our unworthy family. He knows how to a give a big sloppy kiss and a giant bear hug. He loves to babble away to you and do silly things that he knows will make you laugh. He likes to show off to his adoring sisters by doing any amazing feat that a one year old can think up.
William Alexander McDonald is most assuredly a gift from the Lord. Happy Birthday, little guy! We love you!!

Also, on April 5, 2006 a very special person turned thirteen years old. Her name is Abigail Allison.
Abigail Allison is one of my dearest friends. She is kind, loving, sincere and has a passionate love for the Lord. She knows how to comfort, how to joke, and how to give you a pat on the back. Her brilliant smile lights up a room and her laughter is contagious. She is one of my very special and dear friends, and I love her. Happy 13th birthday, Abigail! May the future years of your life be brimming with happiness and may the love of the Lord be forever about you. I love you, my beloved friend and sister in the Lord!

My father and mother have been a bit under the weather of late. Mom had a low grade fever last night, but it's gone now. Other than that, everyone's great.
Weather report:
Well, it's raining right now. I like rain when I'm outside, but when I'm inside it's really gloomy. Yesterday was bright and windy (ideal weather, if you asked me!) and hopefully tomorrow will be the same!
This year should be pretty busy (not quite as busy as last year, though)! We'll be making our way to many different states, including Missouri, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Michigan, ect. It should be fun. We're going to try to visit Plymouth Plantation again, as well as the home of Laura Ingalls Wilder. And we're going to drop through Boston, and maybe visit a thing or two there. So we're bound to have our plates full.
Last night some of the family (Tiff and I stayed home with the little ones.) went to go see Eight Below over at the theatre. I'm supposed to go see it tonight with Tiffany but I'm still not sure about it. I got mixed reviews. Some dear friends of mine told me it was wonderful, my mom said it was badly acted and not worth seeing, Melissa said it was just plain stupid, and Christa loved it. So if you've seen it, feel free to comment and tell me if I should see it or not! I don't want to waste my money if it's a worthless movie.
So, I guess that's about all that's been happening. More interesting things should start happening soon, or hopefully start happening soon! :) And when they do, I'll fill you in a bit more.

Pride Goes Before A Fall
Sickness seems to be pretty popular over at the McDonald home right now. For the past few weeks everyone has been sick with the flu, a cough, sore throat, fever, runny nose, or ear ache. Actually, at one point everyone was sick with the flu except me! Well, I have to admit that made me a little- how can I put it....Proud? :)
I was pretty happy with my excellent immune system. Unfortunately, pride goes before a fall and I am now stuck with an agonizing cough and an extremely stuffy nose. And for the past few days I was sick in bed all day with a fever (which thankfully broke last night.) I had to stay home from church (which was very saddening to me.) and laid on the couch sleeping almost the whole time, until I finally got up and watched Ultimate Issues a film about conflicting worldviews by Dr. R.C. Sproul which I will add was extremely good and worth my time! After that I had some awful packaged soup from the grocery store (the only thing I could get down my throat.). After that the silence in the house began to frighten me (I'm so used to a noisy house bustling with children!) so I turned on some catherdralish music that helped a bit. Of course, to top it all off, my dear brother James just had to scare me half to death!
Okay, I was eating my soup when I heard the sound of the doorknob on the back door turning back and forth violently. I froze. I crept up from my seat and walked slowly into the living room. The phone rang. "Hello?" I answered, trying to calm myself. The reply shook me up, "Where are you?" I didn't recognize the voice. I got scared again. "W-what?" I trembled as I held the phone. "Where are you?" Phew, I recognized James' voice. "James? Is that you?" After his reply I knew it was him. "Yeah. Could you let me in? The door's locked." I let out a deep breath. "Oh! Sure." So, I unlocked the door and let my brother in. So he came in, asked me if I needed anything and I thanked him and said no. So he departed. Later, I found out that he had told Dad at Church that he was coming to check on me. Now isn't that sweet? Older brothers (and younger, too, of course!) are so awesome. I'm so blessed!
Well, then I slept some more. I read a tiny bit but began to feel feverish again (I found out after Mom got home that I had a fever again.) so I went back to sleep. When I awoke, Dad and Mom came home. So it was a very..Eventfull Sunday!
P.S. I must mention that my sister, Tiffany, is now an unclean being. She consumed the most dreaded, disgusting, horrible, grotesque thing that a human being can consume. They are called.....dare I say the word?Escargot or more bluntly called... Snails!! Be prepared to be sick for the rest of the day. That is, unless you are unclean as well and have also devoured these...things. -JNM

i've been reading...again.
I haven’t posted in forever, so I guess it’s time that I finally do.
Hmmm… So what’s been happening over here?
Uh…I’ve read some really good books!!! Such as,

More fantasy! Very good books! Sad, freaky, and filled with faith, I greatly enjoyed them. There are more in the series that are coming, I’m just not really sure what they are going to be called. I’ll tell you truthfully, I bawled my eyes out on these books!!! They were so sad, yet so sweet! Though I’d probably recommend them for ages 13 and up. Anyone younger than that might find them boring since they’re very deep and very long. They can be found at www.thebindingoftheblade.com
Well, I know that I’ve been reading more than that (my goal is a book a day! :) but I can’t seem to remember them all right now (I’m at the office.). I’ll try to think of them though and maybe I’ll post again. :)

A short update...
I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas this year!!! I sure did. And guess what my dear parents bought for me? DRUMROLL…A VIOLIN! And they also got me to get lessons as well. Caleb also got a violin and lessons. I’m SO excited! Is there any felicity in the world superior to this?!
We also had the privilege to spend another Christmas Eve with my relatives (on my Mom’s side), and I got some pictures and will be sure to post some as soon as I get them loaded on the computer.
Caleb received the complete first season of Leave it to Beaver for Christmas and we’ve enjoyed watching it over and over and over again. It’s such a cute show and I can’t wait for the other seasons to come out on DVD.
Also on Christmas day we (meaning my family and our church family) had an extremely enjoyable time at a family from our Church’s house. Including eating (of course!), jumping on the trampoline (Okay, at one point there were actually six of us ‘big kids’ on the tramp! Two of which were much heavier than the rest of us! :) hehehe. Well, they ARE 19 and 25!), talking (duh!), hunting for frogs (don’t worry, I only watched that from a distance!), and pretending to push each other off of the dock by the pond (the guys came up with the idea that we’d all stand in a circle and spin a bottle, whoever it ended pointing at had to be pushed in the lake! It pointed at Abigail Allison, but she wouldn’t go in! lol. Don’t worry, Abigail, I wouldn’t have gone in either! :)You are not alone!). All in all, we had an exciting Christmas and an excellent New Year!

We also had the privilege to spend another Christmas Eve with my relatives (on my Mom’s side), and I got some pictures and will be sure to post some as soon as I get them loaded on the computer.
Caleb received the complete first season of Leave it to Beaver for Christmas and we’ve enjoyed watching it over and over and over again. It’s such a cute show and I can’t wait for the other seasons to come out on DVD.
Also on Christmas day we (meaning my family and our church family) had an extremely enjoyable time at a family from our Church’s house. Including eating (of course!), jumping on the trampoline (Okay, at one point there were actually six of us ‘big kids’ on the tramp! Two of which were much heavier than the rest of us! :) hehehe.
