I am extremely, wildly, gleefully, excited to annouce that....
*drumroll*....
I reached 50,000 words tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am ridiculously happy and very pleased! When I first began NaNoWriMo, I did not think that I could actually reach 50,000...and I thought, that if by some insane chance I actually did, it would be becaause I was up until 12 on the 29th of November writing feverishly.
Never, in a million years did I imagine that I'd actually finish early. I am very, very, very, very happy. (can you tell?) I feel like dancing and singing and standing on my head all at the same time. Isn't God so good??
Hm...maybe I'll go buy myself something special now. Like that dvd of "Northanger Abbey" that I've been wanting so badly. :-D hehe... Actually, maybe I'll just go dance around the living room singing opera at the top of my lungs and driving my family crazy. *cough* Alrighty, I won't. :-)
Thank y'all so much for your kind comments about my novel and for your encouraging words! I am not quite finished writing the book yet (I'm still reaching the climax of it) but when I am completely finished I will let y'all know.
Y'all have a tremendously vibrant week and I pray that the Lord blesses each of you beyond your wildest dreams! Toodle Pip!

Jessica

YAY!
How wonderful, Jessica!!!!!
I liked how you had the notion to dance around singing opera-I did that alot when I was younger-to my family's irritation. And I still have a notion to every once in awhile. :)
Awesome! Congrats!!! :D So how many words do you think you'll have once everything is completed?
And I think that practicing opera on the way to Chicago is a good idea compared to y'all's living room in which to sing opera....but...erm...we'll let you do it in the minivan. ;D
That's wonderful Jess!! I'm sooo happy for you!!
How close are you to finishing the whole book?
Love, Jesi
Congratulations on finishing, Jessica.
Now for the really hard part....
Editing.
Well done Jessica! A feat accomplished that many of us aspire to!!! Maybe you could sing opera outside to celebrate? Again, congrats from CA.
Blessings, Mrs.H
Congratulations!!!! I can't wait to hear when you have finished the whole thing =)
WOW! Congratulations! That is SO exciting! I get the urge to sing opera around the house all the time too! I am so happy for you!
Yea!!!! :-) Congratulations, Jessica! I read the excerpt from your book and it sounds really neat! If you should choose to share more...I would gladly read. :-) I wish you well on the completion of your book!
God Bless!
~Chloe~
YAY! YAY! YAAAAY!!!!!!!!! I knew you could do it!
But it's funny the way people react when they reach the end of writing. ;) I felt for sure, when I finished my first draft of my story (last year or early this one), I was going to go completely bonkers. I typed the last word and stared at the computer screen as if I had just gone through some great battle and had been scarred permanently for life. :) Do let your fan club read it!!
p.s. I read "Pride and Prejudice." !! You didn't warn me how addictive it is. :D
Congrats AGAIN and AGAIN! Now you can give me some tips on finishing a novel in a month. LOL
Congratulations Jess!!! I am so happ for you!
Love, Lenna
That's awesome, Jessica!! And I totally think you should dance around and sing opera at the top of your lungs. :) ha ha. It's quite fun. :)
Meghan, I love it when I feel compelled to behave in such a manner! :-D Too fun! And thank you!!
Ashton, Thank you!!! About...10,000 or so I THINK. There's still quite a bit of the story to be told so I'm not sure. Especially if I take Jeremy's advice and end it how he suggested! lol.
Only if you ride in the minivan too! :-D lol!
Jesi, Thank you muchly! I'm still working on the climax, so I'm not too sure. There's still a bunch of conflict that I have to get resolved! hehe.
Mr. Ben-Ezra, Thank you!! *cough* Well, Yes...THAT part. *sigh* Not my favorite part...that's for sure. Ah well. :-) I will definitely be taking your advice on it though!
Mrs. Hector, Thank you very much! Oh, and I think I shall do just that!! Hopefully the neighbors won't think we're a family of maniacs! LOL! (as if they did not already think so! lol!)
Ella, Thank you!!! I will let y'all know! *promise*
Tara, I'm so excited that we WILL be able to sing Opera...together next month!!! *yay*!! And thank you!!
Choloe, Thank you very much! A post shall be coming up on that soon!!
Bailey, Thank you!!!! Yes...lol...I just sat there for a second thinking, "Wow...I can't believe I just got to 50,000." I think my mind went blank for about 10 seconds! I of course had to celebrate...Gummy Worms were in order (besides skittles, my *favorite* candy!)!! :-D
Don't you just love the book?? It's QUITE addictive! Next thing you know you'll be stopping clerks at stores asking if they have a "Mr.Darcy" t-shirt for sale? LOL.
Hehe...we'll see! *grin*
Lenna, thank you so much! I'm still in a shock that I ACTUALLY finished! *phew*
Anna, Thanks!! Singing opera is the best way to celebrate anything! I did it at Church yesterday and apparently nobody else that was there appreciates it like I do. *grin* Ah well! :-D
Thank you so much everyone for you comments! GOD BLESS Y'ALL!
In Christ Alone,
Jessica
Yaayyyyy!!! Congratulations, Jessica! I've been keeping an eye on the Nanowrimo icon on sidebar. . . I was on your blog a day or two ago and it was on about 48,000. . . And now you've done it! Yahoo! What an achievement. . . :)
Congrats, Jessica!! Wow, what a feat. I thought about entering the contest too, but decided it would be too stressful because I already decided to enter another contest (with a monetary prize... less words, more reward... it wasn't too hard to pick between the two. ;-). I'm interested in entering next year, however!
Do you have to complete your novel by the 30th even though you reached the 50,000 word threshold?
Opera is fantastic. Especially singing it yourself. :-) Are you soprano or alto?
Great job! The time that you did that in is really good.
And I know about the opera singing...But I am on the other side of it. My sister sings it every now and then. :)
Robert L.
Whoohoo!!! I feel like dancing and singing with you! :-) LOTS of hugs!
Yippee!! Congratulations, Jessica!! That is such an amazing feat... I do hope you'll let us all read it.
Have a lovely, happy (it looks like you're already having one of those!) day.
God bless,
Achaia

I'll wait til I read it to congratulate you... I read about a guy who's book consisted of the word "Ford" 96,000 or so times...
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving too Jessica!!!!! :D
Good for you! I never was able to get past 900 words...maybe next year:P And yes I totally think you should get the Northanger Abbey movie, we have it and it is one of my favorite movies ever, I never tire of watching it!

Editrix, Thank you!!! It feels sooo great to be "finished"!!
Kathryn, no, you don't have to finish by the 30th, just get to 50,000 words by the 30th!
I love love love singing! I'm mostly soprano but sometimes sing alto when they're short on them. :-) Actually, I sing base and tenor to. Hehe. I LOVE singing in parts!
And thank you!!
Robert, thank you very much!! Yes, I love to sing opera...it's such a fun way to express joy! :-D

Ellie, Thank you! It's very nice to meet you!! You should definitely try again. I found it to be QUITE the experience...in a good way! :-D
Abby, Thank you! :-D I'm very surprised with myself as usually when I write a book it's no more than 30,000 words at the most. This one is already at 55,000 + so I'm pretty excited! :-D
Thank you for commenting y'all! Have a marvelous week!
In Christ Alone,
Jessica
Oh, congratulations Jessica dear!!! I am SOOO happy for you!!!! I wish that it had been in a different month so that I could have finished mine, oh well... :D Only one thing though... why isn't the draft in my inbox???? Hehe, JK, but I can't wait to read it :)
Love you tons!!!!
~Lis
Congrats! I read the excerpt and can't wait for more! I am a big jane Austen fan and I think I will love your book. I could write if I really wanted to...maybe, but I really don't have any confidence, When I write short stories only my Mom reads them because I'm so afraid of what people will think! By the way, I LOVE your blog layout!
~Joanna K.
Hurray! I enjoy reading your mother's blog, and wandered over here, and lo and behold, I too have just recently won NaNoWriMo! Congratulations to a fellow messy writer! ;-D We'll just have to find some good editors to help us with the not-so-thrilling tidying up, right? ;)
In Christ,
Rael
Hey Jessica,
Congratulations!
I didn't know that you were doing NaNoWriMo. I was too. ;)
If you don't know who I am, heehee, I'm Kate, Jesi's friend.
I actually reached 50,000 words /on/ the 31st. I was soooo relieved.
