NaNoWriMo

This month is National Novel Writing Month! So guess what I'm doing:

Why, writing a 50,000 word novel in 30 days, of course. :-)

Now before you fall over, or faint, or scream, or stare at your computer screen incredulously, take a moment and check out the website: NaNoWriMo.

*edit* If anyone is interested in viewing my profile here is the link: CatherineMoreland! *end edit*

I realize this is going to be quite a challenge. I'm pretty nervous to tell y'all the truth. I'm also excited at the same time. Really excited! But truly, even if I don't win, I still want to give it a try...who can resist a challenge, anyway? :-)
The main reason I'm telling y'all that I'm going to do this is because I know y'all will keep me going. Don't let me quit...really. And those of you who have my email address, in November please send me emails reminding me to work on my novel! I'd really appreciate this, as it could be possible that I'll be tempted to just give up at some point.

If I'm not on my blog/email very often in November, this would be why. :-)
God bless y'all's week!

In Christ Alone,

Jessica
P.S. A HUGE thanks to my wonderful friend, Elissa, who introduced me to NaNoWriMo! We're in this together! Wahoo! :-)

I have heard of this. Sounds very interesting. I should give it a try sometime.

What are you planning on writing your novel about?

Oh am so excited JEss, but you are putting me to shame more thank 3,ooo words in one day and I am not quit to 700 yet... oh well, I've spent most of the day discussing my book with my dad. He is a really good writer, and has been giving me great tips all day, and I think he is as excited about this thing as I am!
Love you!!

Um.. that is supposed to read "putting me to shame with more than 3,000 words..."
:D

Ella, You should! It's not quite as stressful (yet) as I originally thoguht it would be (of course, just wait till I'm stuck at the climax. hehe.) It's a Jane Austen-ish type story about a large family who goes to London for the season where they attempt to marry off their three eldest daughtes.
:-)
I usually do historical fiction, so this is a new thing for me. :-D

Editrix, thank you!!

Brooke, Aw. I'm sure you could if you put your mind to it! :-D And thank you!!

Elissa, just wait till I get to a dead end. ;-D Then I won't be writing quite so fast. hehe. I seriously have been having these random ideas pop into my head (ALL day today) and have felt compelled to write them down immediately.
:-D I tend to be an impatient person though. he.) Love you, Lis!!!

Oh my word! You are so brave. It took tears, sweat, and almost blood for my English teacher and classmates to pull an 8 page short story out of me a couple years ago. And I had 2 months to do it. I'd rather write a research paper any day.

But, I'd love to read you're novel when it's done. Press on!

I like to write - but not novels... in fact, most things that require much original creativity are off my list of accomplishments! :-)

Hope all goes well for you!

I guess I should have specified myself as "Jessica Erber" on that last comment! :-)

What a fun sounding book! Even if it doesn't win anything, I know I would like reading it.

You did inspire me. It's not for a contest, but I am working on something of my own. I have the title "Yellow Dahlias." It is a sappy story about love, coming to the Lord, and beginning again.

I just read your excerpt (linked from Elissa's "Writer Buddies"), and really I am shocked the world has not yet seen your books on the shelves. So very good!! I loved Emmy--so there isn't only one girl who will only marry if her suitor duels. ;)

Keep writing! Keep on!

Ana, I was never good at research papers, unfortunately. I prefer writing dialogue! hehe. Maybe that has something to do with me loving to talk so much? :-D I'll be sure to send it to you when I'm finished!

Jessica, Thank you! I'm getting really excited about it...though I can only write when I have distinct *inspiration* which comes to me VERY rarely. :(

Ella, I'd love to send it to you when I'm finished! And don't worry, I LOVE sappy stories! :-) Ask my sisters. hehe! :-D

Bailey, I'm SO very glad that you enjoyed it!! I'm loving writing it...Emmy is swiftly becoming a good friend of mine! :-D (It helps that I give her all my likes and disslikes. lol.)
We're fellow *waiting for suitors who duel* girls! Wahoo!!! *hugs* :-)
Thank you!!

Jessica

We really enjoyed ourselves at the Reformation Day! As of right now, we hope to come again next year (my siblings too).

We had a nice time with your parents and Emma last night. We enjoyed getting to meet them and visit over supper.

We try to go to Lucas Hedding's dances whenever we can. I'm not sure if we'll be making it to this next one or not, but we'll see. Have you heard about the benefit the Bluedorns are organizing for Greg Wallace? It's this Friday near Bloomington. There will be a dessert live aution, and my brother and sister are the auctioneers. Scary! ;-) I know they'll have fun up there, but it will be interesting to see what they say since they play off each other in...hmmm...shall we say...weird ways! There will also be silent auction baskets, and then we will be doing some dancing for a couple hours with live musicians. Yea! I love to dance. All this to say, hey, you guys should come! If you want more info, check out the Bluedorns blog.

I hope y'all make it to the next Bloomington dance!! God bless!

Kelly, I had no idea you did it!!! I'm having great fun so far...it's tough but I love it! Would you email me your User page so I could add you as a buddy? :-)
